Sutter Middle School Parent Teacher Student Organization

The PTSO is an organization that supports our children; parents, teachers, and students work together as a team to enrich and improve the educational experiences here at Sutter. The Sutter PTSO is independent from the National and State PTA, which means that 100 percent of dues and other funds raised will be used for Sutter PTSO programs. Money generated from fundraising efforts in the past has been spent on a variety of needs, including a large tent for the 8th grade graduation, bleachers, portable soccer goals, benches, the 7th grade end-of-year picnic, teacher appreciation lunch, and equipment and supplies that otherwise would not be available.

Membership dues are $25 per family. The fall membership drive is the only fundraiser planned for the year.

To join the PTSO, please click here to load a PTSO membership form. Print and fill out the form with the appropriate information – dues payments and donations are tax deductible and should be turned in at the office. Please make your check payable to "Sutter PTSO."

General membership meetings are the third Tuesday at 6:00 pm in the Sutter main office. Membership in the PTSO does not mean that you must attend the meetings, although we hope that you are able to benefit from the outflow of information and the High School presentations scheduled for this fall and winter. Make a difference in the educational environment for our students and join the PTSO.

  • Parent Volunteer Opportunities

There are numerous opportunities for parents to volunteer at Sutter. Your students' CORE teachers typically are the best contact for chaperoning field trips and class events. Our athletic coaches need volunteers for athletic events and transportation for the games. And, parents are always welcome to assist with supervising dances and Air Rock.

Volunteers need to be fingerprinted and provide a copy of a recent TB test. You may contact Linda Okada at 24-4150 x 1010 or via email at okadal@sa-city.k12.ca.us for more details on being cleared as a Sutter volunteer.
