Parking at Sutter

As you have guessed by now, Sutter Middle School’s parking situation was not designed with either staff or parents in mind. Back when there were only 40 staff members we had plenty. We now have over 80.

Parking Do's and Don’ts

  • Parking in the front lot is for staff only. Please respect this rule!
  • Please do not double-park in the street. This will not make you popular with the other parents.
  • Parking across the street is now by permit only, except for one hour parking at specified areas.

  • Parking in the red zone in front of the school will get you a ticket.
  • Please do not use the alley to drop off students.
  • If you have to park temporarily, you may do so at the WHITE line in front of the school either in the circle or at the curb. Please do not block traffic or the entrances!

Picking Up Sick Child

If you have to pick up a sick child from room 102, you can either:

  • Park in front and walk in.
  • Pull down the East side of the building to the sign indicating sick child pick up Room 102. WARNING, you will have to back down the alley to get back to the street.

Open House and Events

During Open House and other events there will be signs indicating alternate parking on schools grounds. (i.e., basketball courts and playing fields in back of the school). Access will be from Alhambra, J and I streets. Please do not block the entrances.

Buses at Sutter

Bus Passes

Monthly Regional Transit (RT) bus stickers can be purchased in the office for $35.00 (cash or check) for the month. Checks must be made out to RT or Regional Transit. In order to get bus stickers, students must first have purchased a RT Photo ID card from the Regional Transit Photo Identification Center.

Bus Schedules

A Letter from Regional Transit to Sutter Middle School, Dated August 2, 2004:

The following significant changes have taken place: 1) Route 225, which ran on F Street, has been eliminated because it duplicated Route 34. Route 225 riders can catch Route 34 on F Street at 30th Street at 2:45p. 2) Riders going to River Park can continue to take Route 30 on J Street to CSUS where they will transfer to Route 79.  However, because of schedule changes, there is a 44 minute wait at CSUS. Route 34 picks up on Alhambra northbound at F in front of the Clunie Library at 2:32p. River Park riders might want to consider taking Route 34 and getting off at Carlson/H.

On early dismissal days we will continue to provide one #226 at the early dismissal time and one #226 at the regular dismissal time. On early dismissal days Routes 210, 211, 227, and 228 will run at the normal time. This is because on the public timetable these routes are shown to operate at the same time Monday-Friday, so we have to run a bus on these routes at the normal time on early dismissal days.

Buses are available from Sutter. To view the RT Routes, click here to go to the RT bus route page and find your route on the list.

  • Route 210 (La Riviera Drive)
  • Route 211 (College Greens)
  • Route 226 (Pocket Road/Riverside Boulevard)
  • Route 227 (South Land Park + Greenhaven Drive)
  • Route 228 (Gloria Drive + Rush River Drive)
